Electric Car Research & Purchase — secondhand market, working sketch

What a used EV actually costs, by trim and year

Aggregate depreciation stats hide the thing that matters most for a used Tesla: which trim you're looking at. A "Model 3" spans Propulsion/SR+, Grande Autonomie, and Performance — different battery, different drivetrain, different price band entirely. This chart plots price bands per trim per year/mileage rather than one point per model.

Bars show the sourced listing-price range for that trim/year band; hatched bars mean only one bound of the range was confirmed. This is aggregator-summary data, not individual listings — see 04-secondhand-market-survey.md for sourcing and caveats.

Reading a Tesla listing: Grande Autonomie (Long Range) and Performance trims hold their price much better than base Propulsion/SR+ — a 2022 Performance Model 3 (€30-37k) can cost more used than a 2023 base Propulsion (€26-32k) despite being a year older, because it's a meaningfully different car (AWD, dual motor, more range). Always check the trim before comparing two "Model 3" listings.
