Tax Incentives (France, 2026)
Tax Incentives (France, 2026)
Bonus écologique (main purchase subsidy)
- €3,500-€5,700 depending on income (RFR/part): ≤€16,300 → €5,700; €16,300-€26,300 → €4,700; above → €3,500
- Eligibility: 100% electric only, price <€47,000, weight <2,400kg, ADEME environmental score ≥60/80
Surbonus batterie européenne
- +€1,200-€2,000 if the battery is made in the EEA (cells + pack assembly) — can push the total to ~€7,700 for lower-income households
Leasing social (reopened 16 July 2026 — currently active)
- For households with RFR/part ≤€16,880, commuting >10km or >8,000km/year professionally
- Monthly payments under €200 (some under €140), 3-year min contract, 15,000km/year min mileage
- ~20 eligible models (e.g. Citroën ë-C3 from €94/month); budget covers 50,000 households
Malus écologique — not applicable: 100% electric vehicles are fully exempt from both the CO2 and weight malus in 2026.
Prime à la conversion — the old scrappage/trade-in scheme was discontinued end of 2024; some sources reference a replacement "prime coup de pouce" but figures conflict with the bonus écologique above and weren't confirmed against an official source — check service-public.fr if a trade-in is part of the plan.
Caveat: most sources are SEO/blog content, not government pages. Verify final numbers against service-public.fr or ecologie.gouv.fr before purchase — schemes shift year to year. Regional top-ups (€500-€2,500) may also apply depending on region of residence.
